Soms is een nummer zo passend bij wat je voelt of wat je meemaakt. Dat dit het jaar van de grote veranderingen zal zijn, weet ik al even. Maar de veranderingen komen steeds dichterbij en loslaten wat bekend en veilig is, is zó lastig en eng. Terwijl ik er aan de andere kant ook echt vertrouwen in heb dat het uiteindelijk beter zal uitpakken. Hoewel People Get Ready over veel grootsere veranderingen gaat, voelt het toch als mijn nummer op dit moment. Dus hup, aan boord van die trein en maar geloven dat ik op de juiste bestemming wordt afgezet.
Het origineel is uiteraard niet van Seal, maar ik vind dit zelf wel een erg mooie uitvoering. Bovendien is de man vandaag jarig. Hoera voor Seal.
Sometimes a song is so right by what you feel and what’s happening at that moment. For a while now, I know that this will be the year of big changes for me. At that this moment that changes come closer and closer and sometimes it freaks me out. Eventhough I trust that it will all be for the better, letting go of the things I know is really scary. People Get Ready is about much bigger changes, but it does suit me right now. So I have to get on that train, and have the faith that it will lead me to the right destination.
Ofcourse the original version of this song is of The Impressions, but I really like Seal‘s version. And today is his birthday, so huray for Seal.
